Community Care Market News - Six members of staff at Solihull's Lyndon Croft Care Centre have been struck with the swine flu virus, the facility owner Prime Life Ltd has today (2 July) revealed.

Talking to the Birmingham Mail, Prime Life's managing director James Wood said that a small number of staff at the home had contracted the virus but had been given the appropriate antibiotics and had subsequently been given the greenlight to return to work safely.

Mr Wood added that as part of the standard proceedure in reacting to such an outbreak, the home has remained opend throughout but a hold has been place on any new admissions. Local GPs have been alerted and relatives have been requested to avoid visiting unless the journey is essential.

Mr Wood said: 'Staff at the home have been absolutely super. They have all worked hours for each other. We have had staff on standby from other homes, but we have not needed them.'

Following the identification Prime Life staff at the centre have been cleaning all surfaceswhile extra supplies of cleaning products were available to staff and clients in order to prevent infection spreading.
